REVEREND RODNEY C. CURRY

Senior Pastor

I am a minister, educator, musician, visionary, prayer warrior, husband, and father; but more importantly, I am just a person who is living out my purpose. We were all designed with a purpose. Born on August 5, 1976, in Texas City, Texas to Dr. and Mrs. S.L. Curry, Jr., Rodney Curry is the youngest of three (Channing Curry and Debbie Curry-Burris). As a native of East Texas he grew up in Winona, Texas where he attended Winona ISD and graduated (Class of 1994) with Honors.

He is also an Honor Graduate earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Jarvis Christian College and holds a Master of Education degree from Stephen F. Austin University. Through God’s direction he is now seeking to complete his graduate studies at BMA Seminary with hopes to obtain a Doctor of Ministry.

Pastor Rodney’s many gifts and talents have afforded him numerous opportunities in life. He served with his father, Dr. S.L. Curry, Jr. at the New Zion Baptist Church-Winona as the Minister of Music from 1988 to 2015. He used his gift of music to melodically lead the worship services each week. During that time he answered the call of God to preach the gospel in 2013 and faithfully served as an Associate Minister until he was called to the College Hill Missionary Baptist Church as the Senior Pastor in December 2015. God has richly blessed College Hill to continue to flourish and grow both spiritually and numerically.

Additionally Pastor Curry has spent over 16 years in the field of Education. He most recently served as the principal of Boulter Middle School serving over 850 students daily. He firmly believes in shaping the hearts and minds of all students. Students are challenged to reach their potential through hard work and perseverance.

Pastor Rodney continues to remains actively involved in numerous community and state affiliations. He is a praying man responsible for providing spiritual leadership and inspiring others to accept the challenge of making a positive impact while effectively meeting the needs of the community.

Pastor Rodney Curry is happily married to his beautiful high school sweetheart Beatrice Johnson Curry. Together they have built an amazing bond of love through all of life’s challenges. They are the proud parents of three children (Taylor, Trinity and Rodney Lawrence).
